Petanque in france - Expedia Ireland

We recently sent one of Ireland’s top bloggers, Suzanne Jackson from SoSueMe to the South of France to try out the popular traditional French sport of Pétanque.  Pétanque is a bit similar to boules and is commonly played outdoors.  It is very popular in the South of France with areas like Cannes, Marseille, Nice and Toulon a real stronghold for the sport.  It’s common to see groups of people playing Pétanque on the street, and for many it’s a real social experience.

We sent Suzanne to the picturesque town of St Paul de Vence to try out Pétanque and find out a bit more about the sport.  You can follow her journey from Dublin to St Paul de Vence in the video below.  The area looks amazing and is certainly up there on our European city break wishlist!
