Johnny Ward Celebrates Visiting Every Country in the World
There’s only one place to start and that’s with Johnny Ward of One Step 4 Ward, who completed his task of visiting every country in the world when he touched down in Oslo, Norway for St Patrick’s weekend. While this might seem like a strange final destination, Johnny wanted to celebrate with friends and family, and celebrate he did. A great achievement for Johnny, and a real inspiration to Irish tourists and travel bloggers alike.
Happy St Patrick’s day from my last country, number 197/197, Norway! ❤️🍀❤️🍀 My sister (@mummyontherun2016) into Oslo last night, and one of my best friends flew in from Sydney, Australia to surprise me 💪🏻👊🏻 So grateful and Oslo is an awesome city to celebrate in! Spent the day on an awesome bike tour of Oslo with Viking Biking, my mum being a superstar climbing all the hills! Now it’s drinking and celebration time at the Dubliner in Oslo ❤️🇳🇴 #everycountryintheworld #oslo #norway
It’s taken Johnny 10 years to complete his amazing journey and he’s had some great stories to share with his followers along the way. Check out this great read on his recent trip to Socotra, Yemen, and the struggles he faced in reaching his 196th and second-last country.
Janet Newenham Checks Out Cuba
Cork native Janet Newenham from Journalist on the Run has been checking out the highlights of Central and North America since the turn of the year, with Mexico and Cuba among her most recent trips. Janet has shot a selection of great drone videos of Mexico which went viral on Facebook, but it’s her trip to Cuba that grabbed our attention. Read all about Janet’s time in Havana here.
One of the best ways to see Havana is by doing a 2 hours tour in a vintage Chevrolet Bel Air! You will spot these colourful cars everywhere – many passed down from generation to geberation and still running after 70 years. Things are slowly beginning to change in Cuba, however, so the sooner you visit the better!
Elaine and Dave Will Give You Real Travel Envy
Elaine McArdle and David Murray from The Whole World is a Playground have been to over 50 countries, enjoying some of the world’s best UNESCO sites as they go. Juggling travel with full-time jobs, the guys sure know how to take a photo, and one quick look through their blog or Instagram channel will give you serious travel envy! The guys recently visited Greece and as the photo below shows, it sure looks bliss.
Where is Tara Touches Down in Madeira
Born in New Zealand but raised in Ireland, Tara Povey is another Irish travel blogger who will give you serious envy. Tara recently visited the Portuguese island of Madeira (famous for being the birthplace of Cristiano Ronaldo), and a quick look at her Instagram page will have you considering it for your summer travel plans. Keep up to date with Tara’s travel plans at Where is Tara?
SO last week I spent a few days in MADEIRA to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and it was amazing. It really reminded me of Hawaii! Except it was way cheaper. And well, look at this sunset! INCREDIBLE. The hotel we stayed in was unreal. It had 5 pools and there was sparkling wine at breakfast (perfection). I would highly recommend it. Plus, this whole sunset & infinity pool combo made me feel like a mermaid. #FlyBA
